My Trugs Feedback for buying confidence
Both Jaqui and I sincerely appreciate feedback from buyers or recipients of our trugs. Below are honestly just a tiny fraction of the very many we receive and all feedbacks that you may read below are sincerely 100% genuine and not made up for self promotion.
Dear Kevin, When my much loved trug gave up the ghost after 25 years of good service I thought that I would never be able to replace such a fine trug. I was quite wrong. When your trug arrived it was like welcoming an old friend and I have not once looked back. I think it was William Morris who said that one should not have in one's home any object that is not both beautiful and useful. I think your trugs are a case in point beautifully and expertly handcrafted as they are, and quite clearly you have a passion for keeping this craft alive. I have since bought a second trug for an old friend as a wedding present. It is on its way to Colloony as I write. I just wanted to thank you and show my appreciation and respect for what you create.

What a wonderful surprise - one of your trugs bought for me by my sister. She was with me when we visited a garden centre and heard me asking if they stocked Sussex trugs. I was pointed towards their tawdry plastic 'baskets' in bright colours - then couldn't understand why I said no! I had come across trugs on a holiday to Sussex over 35 years ago and had never had the opportunity of needing one until now - at last I have my garden and time to tend it, and I love every minute of it. A very long wait, an absolutely wonderful authentic Sussex Trug made by you... and a marvellous sister. What more could I want?! Very many thanks for crafting such a wonderful gift.

I bought a 'trug' (not one of yours) from a garden centre as a gift for a friend. Mistake! It was more expensive than yours and was, to be frank - complete rubbish!. So I spent an hour or two researching the internet and found you. I must admit to being a bit apprehensive as yours was so much cheaper, but when I received your trug I was truly amazed at the quality. A very worthwhile internet search! Thanks a million - I will be back, my friend was so very, very pleased I now know what to buy others at Christmas. Keep the good work.

Having purchased your Sussex Trug for a gift, I'm delighted to say that the delivery was prompt and efficient, and that the trug itself is beautiful. The date and the craftsman's signature on the base is a lovely touch, making the gift a little more special, and one which will be treasured for many years to come.
Message: I ordered it, it arrived next day, I opened the box and smelt my past. I was 55 years in horticulture (retired) and remember these in the early years as being an everyday part of work. A superbly made Christmas present for my wife, well my trug days are over. Keep on trugging.

This was an excellent service, both of the trugs I ordered arrived the next day I would definitely recommend this product and would buy again they are so we'll made I doubt they will ever need replacing .
What a superb piece of gardening heritage, kept alive by a craftsman. Well constructed, tactile, useful and decorative as well. Hand signed and dated, delivered two days ahead of schedule, so full marks to everyone involved in its existence and delivery, especially Kevin and Jaqui.
This is the most brilliant trug basket you could ever wish for! The money spent on it is very well worth it! Really solid and beautifully constructed. An absolutely brilliant piece of craftsmanship!! I'm glad I decided on the REAL thing, as all the other ones I'd seen in garden centres were just.... bits of wood. From the copper nails down to it being signed and dated, it just says... class!!! It's reassuring to see firms that take infinite pride in what they make - well done.
I often saw my wife gardening with all sorts of items all over the lawn so i thought of getting her one of these, they had them in the garden centres but on closer inspection they all seemed rather flimsy and most were made anywhere. I ordered one and it arrived promptly and certainly was what it said it was, real good quality materials and very well made. As a retired skilled engineer I was very impressed and I like to encourage skilled craftsmen in this country we can't let these sort of people go out of business so anyone reading this you won't go far wrong with this item.

I have just received the Harlequin trug I ordered, which arrived very promptly, thank you. I have to say how delighted I am with it. Before ordering I looked at other options available online and in garden centres. There were others which looked similar but priced around £90-£100, so I had a few misgivings. I need not have worried however as yours were very affordable and a realistic price. I don't understand how you can produce such a lovely handmade article for the cost. Anyway thank you so much.

I have recently had a torrid time with an alternative trug maker from Kent, which resulted in a 4 month wait and a battle to get my money back. I am writing to say thank you for my beautiful trug which arrived very quickly last week. Jacqui's "PhD" is obviously well earned! I am absolutely in love with my trug. It is both beautiful and practical and is the embodiment of the quote by William Morris "Have nothing in your home that you do not believe to be beautiful or know to be useful". I am delighted with how light yet sturdy it is, and cannot wait to put it to good use when I start to bring in the produce from my newly made vegetable garden. Hi Kevin and Jaqui, thanks for your excellent service and trug. I managed to order one just before Christmas and just before your order books were full! It was delivered to my daughter in Devon in time for Christmas. She is over the moon with it especially in these days of lockdown when her veg harvest is important. It’s beautiful, Kevin! I am thrilled with it – and so will the recipient be. It’s all very well taking up gardening late in life but the learning curve on clearing up afterwards leaves a lot to be desired, and I’m sure this will help the garden become a bit tidier next year.

What an excellent and beautiful piece of kit for the garden. My wife bought me my Trug for Xmas, from yourselves, as she knows I like "proper made stuff". It's perfect. Have been using it to carry the garden tools around until now, for which it is very handy and am at last starting to harvest our veg so am looking forward to filling it to the brim with the fruits of our labour.
It's also proved very capable at transporting multiple bottles of ale from the fridge in the shed to the garden chairs when my mates pop over. Very well made, looks great and will no doubt outlast me.

I would like to congratulate Kevin on not only producing a wonderfully crafted product but also providing customer care which is second to none. Having mistakenly ordered the wrong sized Trug for my wife, a 1 minute phone call and issue rectified with correct Trug arriving within 12 hours of order!

Ordered on Thursday afternoon and it arrived Saturday morning. I sat stroking and admiring my trug for so long it's a wonder it didn't start to pur. My first thought-"it is way too nice to use". My second thought-" I must buy Mum one too". Absolutely love it.
The Trug I received from Trug Makers is fantastic and crafted by a dedicated craftsman who is maintaining the old traditions. I sent him an e-mail to thank him for his workmanship and he replied that he looked forward each morning to doing his job. I wish him every success in the future and may his unique trugs spread happiness to his many recipients.
